If your furnace is about eight years old,
or older, then replacing that old furnace will not only make your home much
warmer and cozy, it will PAY FOR ITSELF in the cost of fuel you save!
Especially now that fuel costs are getting higher!
If you own the home and live in it, then you can
replace that old furnace yourself. It
really isn’t very difficult. After
you turn off power and gas to the furnace, you disconnect the gas, electricity and
roof-jack, then pull the old furnace out, then slide the new furnace in.
Hook-up the power, gas and roof-jack and cold nights end!
One feature I truly like is that the new furnaces don't have a standing pilot light. The only time gas is on is when the furnace needs it. There is no flame to ignite things and your not paying a gas bill to keep the pilot running 24/7 all summer long!
To find out how much it would cost to replace that old, tired furnace, measure bottom to top, identify the output BTU’s, measure the distance from the top of the furnace to the ceiling. Call us with the information and we can give you a price. Click here to see GAS fired furnaces and here for OIL fired and electric furnaces.
It cost me more than $1,100 to replace mine, but it still paid for itself in just under three years; and that was when fuel prices were going down! The difference in what I was saving on the gas bill paid for the furnace! Think about it. If you spent $1,300 putting in a new furnace, (that's high), and it only cut your heat bill by $60 per month, it would still pay for itself in less than 2 1/2 years. If that furnace only lasted ten years, you would still save over $5,000 and that's if energy prices never go up!
Regardless of how old your furnace might be, and if your system has return air vents in each room, if your "Rodent Barrier" is damaged your furnace is working way too hard and it's costing you extra money. To learn more about the Rodent Barrier click here.
